Metadata Cleaning

Overview

The metadata cleaning feature removes metadata from an Office file attachment to reduce potential leakage of hidden information saved in that file. Common types of metadata include:

  • The names of previous document authors and editors
  • Times and frequency of any edits and commentaries
  • Formatting information
  • Deleted text
