| Reduces Risk |
| |
Consider the penalty if you send an important
business e-mail or respond by e-mail to meet a deadline
- whether a regulatory, statutory, or contractual
- and the recipient denies receipt or disputes content
received. The cost, penalties, or business impact
can far exceed the cost of the Registered E-mail®
service. Unlike USPS mail, which is deemed delivered
when sent, the burden of proving e-mail delivery
is legally on the sender (E-SIGN and UETA new electronic
statutes).
The RPost Registered E-mail®
system provides
the sender with the legal proof of delivery
required under these statutes - a truly
essential feature as it is now common for undeliverable
e-mail to not return a bounce notice.
The
Registered E-mail®
system protects against risks inherent
in standard e-mail. |
| |
 |
If there is a dispute about
content or delivery, a simple copy of the
e-mail will not represent solid evidence as
to what transpired. |
 |
What is in the sent folder may not have
been sent and certainly may not have been
delivered and can be altered. One can alter
any e-mail in the sent folder or inbox in
two mouse clicks and represent the altered
e-mail as the original. |
 |
Reading Receipts in text format,
like those provided by Outlook and other standard
e-mail programs, can be easily forged and
hold little evidentiary value. |
 |
Ordinary times on simple text receipts or
on e-mail are set by the sender, receiver
or server time. They are not uniform and can
be easily altered. |
 |
Unlike with USPS mail, which is deemed delivered
when sent, with e-mail, the burden of proving
delivery is legally on the sender. |
 |
It is common to have undeliverable e-mail
without bounce notices. |
 |
Store-and-forward special e-mail services
store the sender's e-mail and are "discoverable"
in a legal dispute. |
|

The RPost Registered E-mail®
service is used in everyday business.
VERIFICATION OF BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS,
CANCELLATIONS, CHANGE ORDERS: Uses include
change orders, cancellations, purchase orders, shipment
notices, confirmation of document transmission,
requests for proposals (RFPs), responses to RFPs,
shareholder notices, insurance coverage notifications,
and regulatory disclosures, among others.
RESPONDING TO CONTRACTUAL DEADLINES, REGULATORY
OR STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS: Consider the
cost if you respond by e-mail to meet a deadline
- whether a regulatory or contractual deadline -
and the recipient chooses to deny receipt or time
received. The cost, penalties, or business impact
could far exceed the cost of Registered E-mail®
service for many years. With the Registered E-mail®
system, you have a tamper-detectable electronic record
of delivery, time delivered, and the entire content
accepted by the receiver - in a form that can be
verified by any party at any time. Senders control
integrity of their data and manage their records
- RPost's Registered E-mail®
system does NOT
store e-mail or receipts.
The core value of the RPost Registration System™
is in the Registered Receipt™ technology,
which:
 |
Informs sender that Registered
E-mail®
message has been legally sent,
delivered, and the precise legal time of delivery
to any Internet address (if it has not been
delivered, the system will provide information
as to why it was not deliverable). |
 |
Resolves disputes in a simple manner. If
a dispute arises concerning the original Registered
E-mail®
message sent or whether and what was delivered,
the sender's tamper-detectable Registered
Receipt™ can be forwarded by e-mail
to the secure RPost verification system. The
recorded evidence of delivery and the exact
content delivered is returned by
e-mail to whomever submitted the Registered
Receipt™ to the RPost verification system. |
 |
Maintains confidentiality throughout the
delivery and return of the Registered Receipt™
e-mail,
as the only copy of a Registered Receipt™
message is returned to the sender - RPost
neither stores e-mail nor receipts
and therefore, RPost is not discoverable in
a legal dispute. All information is contained
within the Registered Receipt™ message that
is returned and managed by the sender. |
 |
Records the back-and-forth deal negotiation
or bidding process in real-time by e-mail,
with Registered Receipts™ for both parties
that can be verified if there is ever a dispute
as to what was said, agreed, or discussed.
An added feature of the RPost system allows
the sender to enable the recipient to reply
"Registered" and the recipient
does NOT need any extra downloads,
links, or software to take advantage of the
protections that are provided by a Registered
Receipt™ message. In that same manner, another
service offered by RPost, the "Intake
Service," allows a customer to address
his or her plain e-mail to a special company
e-mail address supplied by RPost, whereby
the customer's e-mail is converted to a "Reply
Registered" format, which in turn provides
a Registered Receipt™ message to the customer
for the purpose of verifying the uniform
time and content of the customer
purchase order, product request, delivery
verification, or submission, etc. |
