Program:

Proof, Protection, & Peace of Mind for your Important E-Mail…Before It’s Too Late.

>> Do you use e-mail to send important communications, such as advice to clients and legal notices…?

>> Are you currently relying on traditional methods such as your “Sent” folder and Outlook read receipts to record sending and delivery of these emails…?

If the answer is yes, you may be exposing yourself and your clients to liability in case of a dispute involving e-mail. Traditional e-mail systems are outdated in light of federal and state statutes that give electronic messages the same legal status as paper documents.

It may be disconcerting to hear, but using standard email for business purposes is similar to signing a blank check or a contract written in pencil, and then mailing it without any form of confirmation. It is like taking a gamble that no one will ever dispute the content or delivery status of your messages.

This webinar will guide you through best-practice methods to deliver important business correspondence electronically. Focusing on examples from their own legal practices, our panel of legal experts will discuss how they are electronically sending documents with verifiable proof of delivery, all with a simple click of the mouse. The Registered E-Mail service provides you with legally verifiable proof that your email was delivered, with an official time stamp, and legally verifiable proof of the content sent and received, including attachments. Participants will walk away with tips & tools that they can put to work immediately for their clients as well as their own law firms and companies.

Panelist Bios:

Virginia K. Sourlis is an experienced securities and corporate attorney. Virginia founded The Sourlis Law Firm (www.sourlislaw.com), a securities law firm specializing in corporate and securities transactions and in taking companies public, representing both foreign and domestic companies, investment banks, private equity firms, and investors. Virginia has counseled clients on hundreds of transactions involving billions of dollars. She is known in the industry as a “deal maker” and a “creative mind”.

Jeffrey Marks is a corporate attorney specializing in general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and general business transactions. Jeffrey is currently a sole practitioner in Newport Beach, California, and is licensed to practice law in both California and Nevada. He has a broad range of experience, having practiced both as an attorney for a major law firm and as in-house counsel to a publicly traded NASDAQ high technology company. As an attorney at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, LLP, Jeffrey received the experience and training of a large law firm, and, as a result, provides the quality of work expected of a major law firm. Through his tenure as in-house counsel to FutureLink Corp., he gained an understanding of the business and operational needs of companies and has developed a practical approach to advising his clients.

Zafar Khan is co-founder and chief executive officer of RPost (www.rpost.com). RPost has set the global standard for accountable electronic business communications, with its suite of Registered E-mail services, which provide legal and verifiable evidence of the content and time any e-mail has been sent and received by anyone, anywhere in the world. In 2006, Citytech Magazine identified Khan among the top 100 global technology leaders and in 2007, IBM identified RPost’s services as one of the top three messaging and collaboration tools worldwide.
