The global leader in insurance and risk management selects RPost’s Registered Email service for legally verifiable proof of what email content and attachments were sent and received, by whom and when.
London —October 9, 2008— RPost®, the leader in managed outbound messaging with its flagship Registered Email® service suite, announced that Aon has agreed to use RPost’s Registered Email services for 1,500 employees in Aon’s UK division in a multi-year agreement. RPost’s Registered Email service protects Aon against possible misunderstandings regarding email, particularly involving re-insurance transactions among Aon’s major trading partners. RPost’s services provide electronic record of delivery, content, and time stamps for important email transactions, capable of withstanding legal challenge.
“Aon continues to lead the market’s transition from unstructured data or paper to structured data in support of the re / insurance life cycle, however, as with many businesses, email is increasingly used during negotiation processes and as such, there is the potential for its abuse,”
remarks Ian Summers, Managing Director – eBusiness & Market Reform, Aon Limited. “For the benefit of Aon and its trading partners, Aon is using RPost’s Registered Email service to provide certainty and proof around who said what and when, removing any doubt surrounding email authenticity”.
RPost provides the sender legally valid and court admissible evidence of this correspondence occurring from the sender’s desktop email or directly from applications — providing Aon and its trading partners with evidence of delivery, content, and timing of any email, without requiring the recipient to do anything or have anything special. Aon opted to enable RPost service by policy via Google’s Postini email management console, such that all outbound email from certain users would route as Registered Email messages.
“We are pleased to have Aon join our list of prestigious insurance customers who use RPost’s services as a catalyst to move more correspondence of consequence from mail, courier, and fax to email,” said Zafar Khan, co-founder and CEO of RPost. “In the insurance industry, often the post-placement back-and-forth correspondence becomes part of the legal record if there is ever a misunderstanding about what property is covered, what has been claimed, or what waivers have been agreed to. RPost provides the sender legally valid and admissible evidence of this correspondence occurring from the sender’s desktop email or directly from applications.”
For the highest assurance of confidentiality, the RPost system does not retain a copy of the original Registered Email message, unlike alternative “store and forward” solutions, nor does it require email recipients to download specialised software, click on links or enter any passwords in order to open and read the Registered Email message.
RPost services also include one-click tools for electronic contracting and e-signing, end-to-end email encryption, PDF conversion and data leak protection in an all-in-one, on demand service offering.
