Registered Email® Service Installation - Troubleshooting

Microsoft Outlook (2000, 2002, XP, 2003):

Download problems

  1. Make sure you have administrator or proper downloadrights to your computer. If not, ask your IT managerto allow you to download the software or ask themto do it.
  2. The installation saysthat Outlook is still running even though you closedit. Sometimes Outlook runs in the background eventhough it may appear to be closed. To manually closeOutlook, press ctrl + alt + del at the same timeand press Task Manager. Once in the Task Manager,press the Processes tab then find and click on OUTLOOK.EXE.Then press End Process.
  3. An error come up while downloading. If this occurs, copy the error and email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it the exact error. Even better is taking a screenshot of the error and email it to that address. TO take a screenshot, click on the error pop and press Ctrl + PrtSc at the same time. Then, compose an email and in the body of the email right-click on your mouse and press "paste" in the menu.

"Send Registered" button does not appear

  1. Make sure you are using Microsoft Outlook (NOT OutlookExpress) as your mail client.
  2. Make sure the program is installed. In your Inbox,press Tools then Options. Do you see a RegisteredEmail tab? If not, the program has not installedcorrectly. Please re-install and/or reboot.
  3. Make sure you are not composing email withRich Text. In your Inbox, press Tools then Optionsand press the Mail Format tab. Make sure you arecomposing email messages in HTML or Plain Text.
  4. Compose your message using the Microsoft Outlook Editor. To do this, from yourInbox, press Tools then Options and press the MailFormat tab. Uncheck the box that says, "Use MicrosoftWord to edit email messages."
  5. Send a test email to yourself. Certain versionsof Outlook 2000 may prompt you to send a Registered Emailmessage after pressing the Send button.
  6. While in Outlook, press: Help // About MS Outlook// Disabled Items // Enable RPost.
  7. Re-boot the machine

Cannot find Registered Receiptemail or Receipt folder.

  1. Registered Receiptemails automatically route to a newly created "(R)eceipts"folder which is a subfolder of your Inbox.
  2. The folderis created upon receiving your first RegisteredReceipt email (not the Acknowledgment receipt).
  3. In the Inbox, press View and then Folder List. Pressthe "+" to the left of the Inbox and the (R)eceiptssubfolder will appear. **This folder is createdAFTER the first Registered Receipt email is sentto you. This may take a few hours**
