Equivalent to Certified Mail That Expedites
Message Delivery with Legal Proof |
GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, and LOS
ANGELES—December 6, 2007 – The Cayman Islands Postal
Service (CIPS) and RPost®, the leader in managed
outbound messaging with its flagship Registered
E-mail® services, today announced that they have
entered into a multi-year partnership. Under terms
of the agreement, CIPS will offer RPost’s Registered
E-mail services to its 68,000 corporate customers,
including over 500 banks, 800 insurers and 5,000
mutual funds. The RPost service will allow CIPS
business customers to dramatically reduce their
annual communications costs by offering a viable
electronic option to high-cost courier and overnight
delivery services.
By adding RPost capabilities to its menu of business
solutions and value-added services, CIPS now manages
the entire mail stream—both paper-based and
electronic correspondence. With RPost’s Registered
E-mail services, CIPS customers can send
international business correspondence—including
contracts, notifications and general information—via
e-mail with verifiable proof of message delivery,
content and time stamp for messages sent to any
Internet address. RPost powers a set of high-value
outbound messaging services for client records
management, compliance, e-discovery, paper reduction
and cost reduction initiatives.
The Cayman Islands Postal Service is at the
forefront in providing advanced messaging technology
to support the growing number of banks, insurers and
legal firms conducting business in this thriving
offshore financial center and internationally. These
companies communicate heavily with business
partners, litigants and customers both locally and
abroad, and require a fast, cost-effective method of
communicating critical information via e-mail that
also provides legal assurance and proof that would
be admissible into evidence, should message content
be challenged in court.
“With this RPost alliance, the Postal Service has a
wonderful new service to offer to our customers.
Internet-based technologies have become such an
intrinsic part of daily corporate communications
that postal services everywhere are challenged to
use these technologies to add value to and enhance
traditional postal operations,” said Sheena Glasgow,
Postmaster General of the Cayman Islands Postal
Service.
“RPost’s Registered E-mail services are a strategic
new offering for our financial and international
business clientele which allows them the capability
to conduct legal transactions, bind agreements, and
send enforceable notifications globally, instantly
with just the click of a mouse. RPost’s Registered
E-Mail services will revolutionize the way our
customers send important documents, even the most
confidential ones, at a fraction of the cost of
courier delivery with the speed of e-mail,” she
added.
“With more business communications and contractual
transactions taking place electronically, our
alliance with RPost extends our commitment to
building the most business-friendly global financial
center possible. RPost’s Registered E-mail services
will revolutionize the way our customers send
important documents, even the most confidential
ones, at a fraction of the cost of courier delivery
with the speed of e-mail,” she added.
The Cayman Islands Postal Service and RPost have
bundled the cost of e-mail delivery proof, time
stamping, encrypting, PDF conversion, information
leak prevention, e-contracting, and e-signing into
one flat per unit price of CI$1– traditional courier
services cost between $18 and $30, depending on
weight and destination. RPost outbound messaging
services can be used from every desktop, laptop or
handheld PC, offering CIPS customers a flexible and
convenient platform for sending documents and
managing electronic records.“The Cayman Island
Postal Service is internationally savvy in terms of
recognizing the importance of offering its customers
an alternative method to traditional courier
services that provide assurance, tracking
capabilities and proof of delivery, while saving
time and reducing costs,” says Zafar Khan, CEO of
RPost. “Due to RPost’s unique authentication
capability, RPost’s Registered E-mail service save
companies money otherwise spent on storage, e-mail
records management, and electronic discovery
requests, fax, and courier, and enables CIPS
customers to instantly gain greater accountability
and protection for their communications as well as
the ability to sign documents and legally bind
agreement by e-mail.”
RPost’s Registered E-mail services include more than
ten message protection options, integrated into one
platform. RPost closes the delivery gap in
electronic communications that may result when
unprotected e-mail messages are disputed with
respect to content, delivery status, or time. Unlike
alternative messaging approaches, RPost services are
simple to install, fully integrated, and require no
recipient action or software.
